Recording and local transcription
Recordings are saved on your device. On supported iPhones and languages, WordMarker can create on-device transcripts without uploading audio. If a language model needs to be downloaded, follow the in-app prompt and keep the device online until the download completes.
Online transcription balance
Online transcription uses your available account time. WordMarker reserves the recording duration when an online job is accepted, then finalizes or releases that reservation when processing completes or fails.
Rewarded ads for extra online time
If you are signed in and do not have enough available online transcription time for a recording, WordMarker may offer an optional rewarded ad in that online-transcription setup flow. Completing the ad and passing server verification grants two online-transcription minutes. The credit may briefly remain pending while WordMarker waits for verification.
Closing the ad before earning the reward, a failed presentation, unavailable ad inventory, no fill, failed consent, network failure, or failed verification does not grant minutes. Ads may not always be available because of region, privacy choices, network conditions, inventory, AdMob or app review status, or temporary service conditions. WordMarker does not promise that every ad lasts a specific number of seconds.
If an ad is unavailable, confirm that you have internet access and are signed in, then wait and try again later. If the app says verification completed but the balance has not refreshed, reopen Account or refresh the balance.
If earned credit still appears to be missing, contact support with the approximate time, device model, iOS version, WordMarker version, and the non-sensitive message shown in the app. Do not send recordings, transcripts, summaries, passwords, authentication codes, banking information, or complete advertising identifiers. Google does not receive your audio, transcripts, or Summaries through the rewarded-ad flow.
Creating a Summary
Open a recording with a completed transcript, switch the transcript view to Summary, and tap Generate Summary. Summary uses the selected transcript; it does not upload the recording audio for Summary generation.
Summary requires Sign in with Apple, network access, and an active paid WordMarker plan. WordMarker confirms your account and plan before creating the Summary. If you are signed out, use Sign In. If you do not have an active plan, use View Plans or Restore Purchases from the account screen.
Where completed Summaries are saved
When generation succeeds, WordMarker saves the completed Summary with the recording on your device. After the app confirms that local delivery succeeded, the backend removes the completed Summary content and the transcript input tied only to that Summary request.
The completed Summary remains available in the recording detail view and can be shared from WordMarker while it remains stored locally on your device. Signing out, canceling, or subscription expiration does not delete local recordings, transcripts, or summaries.
If Summary generation fails
Check your internet connection, make sure you are signed in, and confirm that your paid plan is active. Some failures can be retried with Try Again. If the transcript changed, the recording is too long, the transcript is too large, or the transcript cannot be summarized, create or select a supported completed transcript and generate a new Summary.
If WordMarker says the Summary provider is unavailable or the status could not be refreshed, wait briefly and retry when you are connected. If a completed Summary does not appear after retrying, contact support and include the approximate time, device model, iOS version, WordMarker version, and the non-sensitive error text shown in the app.
Sign in with Apple
Sign in with Apple is required for online transcription, Summary, subscriptions, and account balance. You can still record audio and use available on-device transcription without signing in.
Subscriptions
Subscription allowances reset each billing period. Unused minutes do not roll over. Use Restore Purchases in the app to ask the App Store for active subscription entitlements. Cancel or manage subscriptions in Apple subscription settings.
Local data
Signing out, cancellation, or subscription expiration does not delete recordings, transcripts, or completed summaries stored on your device. Keep regular device backups if that local content is important.
Network or product-loading issues
Check your internet connection, make sure the App Store is reachable, then try again. If subscription products do not load, wait briefly and retry from the account screen.
